After winning Best Director at the Marina del Rey Film Festival and Best Actor at the Culver city Film Festival, Lock It Up Dog just won Best Comedy at the 2018 Chautauqua International Film Festival!

Ashley Lauren

Ashley Lauren (she/her) is a multi-cultural transgender writer-director and musician. She was recently named a fellow in the WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Lab for her feature script "Small Block", which will be featured and performed on an upcoming installment of the award winning Table Read Podcast.

Ashley’s feature and pilot scripts have earned finalist, semi-finalist, and quarter-finalist placements in competition; her short films PASSAGE, After October, and Lock It Up Dog have won Best Directing, a Special Jury Award, and Best Comedy Short, among others.

She was formerly Head of Production at Snap (Snapchat) for its Snap Originals brand, where she helped spearhead its at the time industry leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts in addition to overseeing a varied slate of series. She has worked with a wide range of industry professionals, celebrities, influencers, and execs during her time there as well as at Studio71 as the Director of Post Production.

Ashley is currently writing an allegorical horror feature that she hopes to produce in the near future.
